As I look back, I realize how many mentors and teachers have touched my life. One of my first business mentor was a gentleman named Earl Nightingale. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, he changed my life forever. Mr Nightingale was an incredible teacher, and I learned a lot by reading his book, leader on the field. A wonderful story he tells is adapted from Russell Conwell book Acres of Diamonds.

The story is about a young farmer in Africa who have a strong desire to find all the diamonds he could. He sold his farm, packed all her belongings and headed to seek his fortune in diamonds. After years of failure and despair, he committed suicide. One day, the man who had bought his farm and work has been noticed in the creek some brilliant. He picked up a large, and after admiring its beauty, put on his coat. A visiting friend noticed the large stone and became very excited. He realized it was the largest diamond known to man! He asked: "Where did you do that?" The young farmer replied, "Down by the Creek, they seem to be everywhere." The farm became famous for having the greatest discovery of diamonds in Africa as a whole. The first farmer threw his life without realizing he had "Acres of Diamonds."

My friend and mentor, Paul Hutsey, put it best in a telephone conversation we had recently.
He said, "Tommy, this story is repeated almost every day. We are all literally standing on our own diamond mine." It reminded me, we need all, we already have, but we have to develop. Too often we procrastinate and the small voices of the past, said: "Play safe. Therefore, yesterday and all the yesterdays become missed opportunities.

We follow the crowd, believing that the best way. This is not the best way. This is how the average. So we follow the follower, we talent here, talent there, make promises that we do not, and spend more time to prepare ... to prepare.

As you look back, will it results or regrets? Effort or excuses? Will you live a life could have, would, or should have? You see, what we focus on us more.
Life is all about choices ... Choose wisely.

Until next time ... Live master!
